Pope Francis has recognized the life of service of a local Catholic priest, Fr. Guy Albert. Fr. Albert was notified this week that the pope has named him an honorary “Chaplain of His Holiness”, a title granted for service to the people and contributions to the life of the church. The honour also comes with the title of Monsignor.

We are saddened to announce that Mrs. Regina Ogah passed away on October 22nd, 2021, in Nigeria. She was the mother of Father Joseph Ogah, pastor of St-Francois-Xavier parish, Cartier, St. Bartholonew parish, Levack, and St-Etienne-Martyr parish, Dowling. The funeral will take place at St. Joseph parish, Orokam, Benue, Nigeria, on Nov 4th, 2021.
Father Charles Ngozi Abiamiri is transferred from the Parish of Holy Redeemer in Sudbury to the Parish of Saint Gerard Majella in Sault Ste. Marie as Parochial Vicar, to assist the Parochial Administrator of the Parish of Saint Gerard Majella in Sault Ste. Marie, Father Alex Saurianthadathil, in the accomplishment of his pastoral duties.
We are saddened to announce that Kenneth B. Parker, p.d., died in Fredericton N.B. on September 11th, 2021. The funeral was held on Wednesday, September 15, at St. Dunstan's Catholic Church, Fredericton, where he held the position of Church Deacon for many years.
We are saddened to announce that Sister Margaret Cushman, c.s.j., died at St. Joseph’s Motherhouse, North Bay, on August 13th, 2021. The funeral will be held on Friday, August 20th, at St. Joseph’s Motherhouse. Please note that the funeral liturgy will not be open to the public because of pandemic restrictions.
The Province of Ontario entered Stage Three of the Roadmap to Reopen on July 16, 2021 at 12:01am. With This new stage., many changes have occurred in what is possible with regards to the lives of our churches. We are saddened to announce that Fr. Jean Gobeil SJ died on July 15, 2021, at 91 years of age. He died in his sleep, at la Communauté Jean-de-Brébeuf, St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Québec. He had 70 years of service for la Compagnie de Jésus.
