Villa Loyola, under the direction of the Jesuits of Sudbury, was built as a retreat centre in 1962 on 12 acres of land on the south shore of Long Lake. Located in the city's south end, it is only a short drive from Sudbury's downtown core.
Over the years, Villa Loyola has become a centre hosting a wide range of religious and lay organizations. Completely renovated in 1996, it is an ideal setting for a variety of conferences, workshops, seminars, spiritual retreats and faith development in a peaceful environment. It has the amenities of a conference centre. The Villa welcomes groups of various religious traditions as well as persons seeking a quiet and reflective time of prayer.
